The project entails designing a skid equipped with four units, including a walkway. I have been tasked with designing and analysing the skid, a critical component of the barge. The skid has a column height of 8.3 meters, while the walkway stands at 9 meters. The structure must accommodate wind loads, as well as pitch, heave and roll forces, in addition to piping loads. Hogging and sagging have been considered for the structure. Baseplate and splices are designed accordingly. We have designed using AISC ASD standard codes to ensure the structural integrity and safety of the design.
